I know exactly what you mean, I'm struggling to get out of debt myself and sometimes old habits are just really hard to kick. Like yesterday, I spent $33 on Amazon when I shouldnt had. Even though its just $33 it was an impulsive buy and that's just $33 more in debt I'll be! :(

Oh man, boxed sets are my weakness. Seriously, I just HAD to have Glee when it came out on DVD, which also turned into having season five of LOST and 500 Days of Summer. I have no self control sometimes

It's a snowball effect... You buy one thing because you absolutely have to, then you buy another because you should - even if it's unnecessary - and from there, you're buying stuff you know you don't need, but definitely want. I've done the same thing before, too. We all slip a little sometimes when trying to save money or just cut spending. Don't be so hard on yourself about it. Sometimes you have to give in to those temptations or you'll inevitably be miserable. And now that you've done so, you can get back on track and continue your path toward debt-free living.

I think you're allowed to buy some things every once a while and at least you realized it as soon as it happened. Look at how far you've come to this point now anyways - you're even doing better than I am! I'm curious what's your grocery budget? We're having a problem sticking to ours - it's driving me insane! Or maybe it's because we buy a lot of non-groceries from WalMart too so Mint.com tells me we're overbudget. I should start saving receipts and add it up myself.

I know you're trying to cut out unnecessary expenditure, but personally, I don't think buying some DVDs and a pizza is that big of a deal. Debt or no debt, you still have to keep yourself entertained, and, you know, alive. If you continue to go about things the right way, I'm sure you'll make overall savings. Keep going.

Don't get discouraged Ashley. If you have a bad day, move forward and start fresh on the next one! It's okay, we all have our ups and downs!

I find it really interesting in how alike my mindset is about losing weight, to your mindset is about getting out of debt. I find myself thinking these exact same things when I have a bad day of eating. Really interesting.
